I’m so sad I’m going to miss this, but for those of you in Chicago you MUST go and tell me about all the fun!

I’m SUPER EXCITED about my latest purchase. I just ordered this adorable gray tank from Vaute Couture. Leanne, the fabulous vegan designer is also the model in the photo above. The tank is $32 and even better, shipping is only $2! I’m really looking forward to the fall when she offers sweatshirts similar to these tanks.

Have any of you ever used the Rice Whip from Soyatoo? I’ve bought it twice now and will not be purchasing it again – for a couple of reasons. The first time I purchased it I could NOT get it to come out! I kept meaning to take it back to Whole Foods but just never got around to it so I finally just threw it out. I recently purchased it again to give it another try. At first it worked but after a few uses it stopped working. I can tell there is plenty of cream still inside but it just won’t come out! So frustrating! Finally, now that I looked at their website I found that the Soy Whip is vegan but the Rice Whip is only vegetarian. I clicked on ingredients to see exactly what non-vegan products are in it, but the ingredients aren’t detailed enough for me to figure that out. I guess I need to try the Soy Whip again to see how that works. I’m pretty sure I’ve purchased it before but I can’t remember what I thought. I’ve purchased the Rice Whip as I’m trying to not over-do it with soy products but I guess if I really must have whip I’ll have to deal with soy – that is, if I have better luck with that can!
I never really thought about how dirty jeans are for the environment! Levi’s says…
1. Throughout its lifecycle, a pair of jeans consumes as much energy as powering a personal computer for 556 hours. You can reduce this by washing less and line drying when possible.
2. Almost half of the water that is used throughout the life of a pair of jeans takes place after you bring them home from the store. (don’t wash your jeans after every wear – wait as long as possible to save on water!)
3. The average person in the US throws away 68 pounds of clothing and textiles a year. (donate or recycle old jeans)

Here’s a video of the adorable calves I mentioned the other day – they’re so cute! Please consider helping them!
I finally picked up a Vita Coco and wow – not sure why I hadn’t done so sooner! I love this stuff! I’m really a water girl so it’s very rare for me to purchase a beverage. I have had coconut water before but it was the fresh stuff from Karyn’s, not other flavors, so I just wasn’t crazy about it as is. I use it in smoothies – which I love. Monday I was still feeling a little rough from my bachelorette party weekend and I knew that the natural electrolytes in coconut water would make me feel a lot better. Coconut water helps replenish your body’s fluids, boosts circulation, detoxifies and boosts the immune system, calms the stomach, and lots more. It’s nature’s Gatorade – and since I can’t stand Gatorade this is perfect for me! I’ll definitely be stocking up on these next time I’m at the market – these are great to have on hand. The first one I tried was peach and mango – I’m really looking forward to trying the other flavors! YUM!

Farm Sanctuary recently came to the aid of six male Holstein calves, several just days old, who had been abandoned without food or water and left for dead. With much love and care these calves are now thriving, but they are in desperate need of potential adopters for these sweet boys.
Farm Sanctuary operates the country’s largest farm animal rescue and adoption network. Every year, they assist with urgent placement needs — particularly in cruelty cases involving large numbers of animals. When their shelters are full, they depend on compassionate people who want to make a direct difference for a suffering cow, pig, chicken or other farm animal. Since 1986, nearly 3,000 needy farm animals have been given a new beginning — thanks to people all across the country who have room in their hearts and their homes to join our FARM ANIMAL ADOPTION NETWORK (FAAN). Please consider joining and helping out these adorable little calves!

I love to have a bit of color and I love the sun but I also worry about how damaging the sun is to my skin. My current favorite self tanner is made my Alba and runs about $9.95 for 4oz. It is super moisturizing and was fabulous in the dry months of winter. I never have any streaking issues and it gives me a great golden color – nothing orangey. It definitely has a light tanning product smell but it’s not horrible. I use it as often as once a day for a darker color.
I recently picked up Nature’s Gate self tanner (which runs around $8.99) but wasn’t as nearly impressed as I have been with Alba. So, if you’re debating between the two, definitely go with Alba. The Nature’s Gate is not as emollient as Alba, which I thought may be nice for summer, but in the end I found I liked the creamier one and also noticed some streaking and un-even areas with NG. I also don’t like how it settles in cracks – like the under side of my elbows or in my cleavage. The Alba product didn’t do that. So, as soon as this tube is gone I’ll be back on the Alba tanner
