Adopt Me! Chicago Pet Of The Week
Scooby Boy
this cutie is still waiting to be adopted – check out his video!
Meet Scooby Boy, a tiny dog with a very big heart! This poor guy arrived at PAWS last spring, after his previous owner dropped him off at Animal Control. Severely matted, underweight, and very frightened, Scooby Boy was a sad sight when he came to the PAWS Rescue and Recovery Center. It’s heart-breaking to imagine what his life must have been like before he was given up. After receiving a vet exam, it was found that Scooby Boy suffered from bladder stones. He underwent a corrective surgery, and had a full dental cleaning. Scooby Boy is now on a special diet to keep him from developing further bladder issues, but otherwise he is a normal, happy dog, who can’t wait to find the home of his dreams!
At just 12 lbs., the world is a very big, scary place to Scooby Boy. He really needs a loving adult who will help to socialize him, and take him through a basic obedience class to improve his confidence. He may always need to be introduced to new people slowly, but is sure to reward his family with lots of cuddles and puppy kisses– he is quite affectionate and lovely once he gets to know you! Scooby Boy is good with a lot of other dogs, and would be happy with a canine companion in his new home, or as the only pooch, as long as he gets the attention and love he craves! He is already crate-trained, and will make a wonderful companion for experienced dog-lovers who can understand the world from Scooby Boy’s point of view.
Will you give this sweet little guy a place to call home?
