I LOVE these Sprout eco-friendly watches! Sprout is super with the times – their watches boast:
100% biodegradable case and buckle
Natural bamboo dial
100% organic cotton strap
Mineral crystal lens
Mercury-free battery
The style really isn’t mine – I think they’d be fanstastic for kids but adult with a sporty style could easily pull one off!

I have a baby gift to purchase and am super excited to check out Nat & Helens. I’ve been looking at the website but can’t wait to go into the store. Check out the online site or visit their Chicago store – I’ll let you know what I think once I make it in there but the online store as lots of super cute stuff – organic cotton, bamboo, etc.
I found a new clothing line that I’m loving. ecoSkin uses only environmentally sustainable luxury fabrics woven, dyed and sewn in the USA. My first purchases from the line were a cute top as seen below and bamboo/spandex leggings with – coconut buttons on the back above the ankle (I couldn’t manage to copy a photo of them from the website – so you’ll have to check them out on your own)

Bamboos are the fastest growing woody plants in the world. A bamboo grove also releases some 35 percent more oxygen into the air than a similar-sized stand of trees, and it matures (and can be replanted) within seven years (compared to 30-50 years for a stand of trees), helping to improve soil conditions and prevent erosion along the way. Bamboo is so fast-growing that it can yield 20 times more timber than trees on the same area. When comparing bamboo to cotton you should know that bamboo is much more resiliant to pests and is thus most often grown without any toxic chemical pest management unlike conventional cotton. It’s great to know that by purchasing bamboo products over others you’ve helped to reduce the amount of chemicals released into the environment.

Bamboo Masa - Cherry
I’m very excited about the new eyeglasses I just ordered for Eric and myself. They’re from AMY SACKS eyewear and accessories.
The first thing that caught my attention was the bamboo frames. They have hand carved stained bamboo temples with a complementary acetate frame front(mine will be cherry).
Bamboo is renowned for its beauty, strength and sustainability. It is lightweight, long wearing and less susceptible to warping than wood. Bamboo does not require replanting after harvest and some species can grow more than two feet in a single day. Farmed bamboo helps reduce soil erosion, produces oxygen and provides animal habitats.
The second thing I liked was that part of the proceeds go to The Pixie Project to provide spay and neuter services, as well as other veterinary services, for pets in low-income families.
Eric is getting the frames below – not bamboo but part of the proceeds will go to pets in need which is fantastic!
