Paralyzed Pit Red Finally Adopted!

Category : Animals

I’m so excited for Red, a paralyzed Pit Bull who’s been living at the PAWS Chicago Adoption Center for the past few years, as he’s FINALLY been adopted!!  Through my involvement with the shelter I’ve seen him hanging out in his suite at PAWS many, many times over the years.  He’s an absolute sweetie who has overcome all odds after being paralyzed by a gunshot wound.  Paralysis hasn’t stopped him – he now happily wheels around in his special scooter.  Check out this great article from the Chicago Tribune

Run For Their Lives – Chicago

Category : Animals

PAWS Chicago – Run For Their Lives September 26, 2010 at 9:00am

This is an awesome event which raises a lot of money and awarness for PAWS Chicago which I am a big supporter of

About the Event
Support PAWS Chicago’s mission to build a No Kill city by running or walking for homeless animals. Bring the whole family to participate in the child and pet-friendly walk, or compete against the clock in the 8K Run.

This annual event is extremely important to raising funds for PAWS Chicago’s life-saving programs.

PAWS Chicago (Pets Are Worth Saving) is the city’s largest No Kill humane organization. Through a solution based approach to animal welfare, PAWS Chicago has placed Chicago on track to become a No Kill city where pets are no longer destroyed because they are homeless. Since PAWS Chicago’s founding in 1997, the number of homeless pets euthanized per year has dropped from 42,561 to 19,288 – more than a 50 percent decrease!

Collect pledges and win prizes! Every dollar you raise goes directly to the animals.
