The other day The Discerning Brute pointed out Toms has some new vegan styles out for spring and summer so I had to take a look for myself. His favorite was the Black Tangier. Of the women’s styles I’m loving the Blue Tangier. This shade of blue is bright and great for summer. Throw them on with jeans or shorts and they’re fantastic for running errands or walking the dog. Toms Shoes are SUPER comfy – they’re like wearing slippers!

I LOVE these new patent and cork wedges from Neuaura!!! Aren’t they fantastic?! I love that they took the typically dressy patent and mixed it with summer cashual cork – it’s an amazing combo! I just got the greatest new pumps from Kind Boutique! The Neuaura Kettle shoes are super comfy and absolutely adorable. They have a fairly small heel – not a kitten heel – a little higher than that, so they’re great for walking. I wore them to work yesterday so that says a LOT! I NEVER wear heels to the office – I always wear flats then change to heels! They are seriously that comfy that I was happy to deal with all my daily walking around town while wearing them. I even received a few compliments on them! One being from the security guard who liked the detailing/pattern on them! I agree with him – they’re super fun! Kind Boutique has them on sale right now for $70! I found them to be true to size…order yourself a pair!

So I was just in Mexico for a short escape from this Chicago winter. The weather was pretty nice – could’ve been better but I’m nice and tan and took in lots of sunshine and warmth so I’m not complaining!
Prior to my holiday I was on the hunt for new flip flops. While in L.A. I was passing the Rainbow Sandalsstore on Melrose and found that they have hemp sandals! Hemp is a natural fiber, durable and biodegradable. Even the label attached to them was made from 100% recycled paper. So – in concept I love them and at first test they were super comfy.
Unfortunately they’re not fun to break in. Maybe it’s because I have the thin strap version, but I have blisters on the top of both of my feet and I got to the point where I would rather go barefoot (and for the germaphobe that I am, that’s crazy!). I’m really hoping they get better. Now that I’m back in the cold weather it’ll be awhile before I wear them again so I’m not sure what my final decision will be on these. In theory they’re great and just because they gave me blisters doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll do the same for you.
I’m super happy that Rainbow Sandals found it important to make such eco-friendly shoes – hopefully now I’ll be able to work into them
