Friday night I went to BabyCakes in NYC! I absolutely LOVED my chocolate chip cookie sandie – yes that is frosting in the middle of two chocolate chip cookies – it was divine! They only had oatmeal raisin ones out but had these hiding in the freezer…even frozen it was great – actually the girl told me she likes them better frozen – I agree!! I’ve been to BabyCakes LA but this was my first time to the NYC shop. Of course I forgot that I didn’t care for their red velvet cupcakes (they have something in them that crunches, not sure if its the sugar or what, but its a little odd). I wish I had remembered that because I brought a non-vegan friend and would have preferred her to get something that would be a hit. She’s not a frosting person so I couldn’t share my treat with her. Oh well, she’s had vegan cupcakes from Molly’s Cupcakes in Chicago and she does really like those – she said they’re much better and I agree!

I am so going there when I’m I got NY in a couple weeks! A friend of mine that travels to NY often for business overnighted her husband a box. They ate all the cupcakes, but I got to try the frosting, which is shipped in a separate container on a piece of Amy’s vegan chocolate cake. I thought it was yummy delicious! And, thanks for the red velvet cake warning; that’s probably the one I would have picked.
oh wow, how sweet of her…and YUM! they really do have great treats, but yea, the red velvet is disappointing so save yourself the $$ and room in your tummy and try one of their other fabulous goodies. I have at least one more NYC food posting coming…
