As part of Toyota’s strange but seemingly effectivemarketing campaign for the new 2010 Prius hybrid, the Japanese automaker has rolled out a bunch of 18-foot tall solar flowers to various urban centers all around the United States, starting with Boston’s Prudential Plaza. Next up: New York, followed by Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

These are pretty cute and we may actually see these in Chicago in the near future – I think it’s kind of a fun idea – at least it has practical uses!  If you read the entire story you’ll notice the comments posted by readers are pretty negative.  I don’t have a problem with them at all.  They’re useful and free, so why not?!  I’ll keep an eye out for them here in Chicago and will let you know when I see one  – or let me know if one of you see them first!
